Save Felton Common has a great website
The Save Felton Common community came together to record this song as part of their objection to Bristol Airport's expansion proposals, which includes developing on Felton Common, a 100 acre nature reserve.
It was recorded both in Chew Stoke village hall with 13 local singers and 250 community members on Felton Common.’

The Goose and the Common is 18th century protest rhyme about the social injustice of the Enclosures Act, land rights and privatisation of common land. We felt it was the perfect song to highlight the injustice of Bristol Airport's proposed land-grab of Felton Common, a 100acre nature reserve and SNCI (Site of Nature Conservation Interest), with Scheduled Ancient Monuments including bronze age and neolithic conjoined barrows. It is an open access community space, and is home to a unique diverse range of flora and fauna including many endangered species.
Bristol Airport (a private company) is proposing to install new landing lights over 8m tall with 3m fencing, and adjacent infastructure across the centre of the common. The designated area contains rare nesting skylarks, and will permanently destroy this unique habitat, causing excessive light pollution amongst many other devastating effects linked to their recent planning application.
They propose an increase to passenger numbers, up to 15million per year, a nearly 40% increase compared to 2025; more flights including more night flights, more traffic congestion and more pollution. Once the airport get some of the land, it will be far easier for them to take more of the common for themselves. We cannot let this happen. Even Bristol Airport say in their own report that “Damage to the greenbelt will be moderate to significant”. We must stop this corporate land grab!
All performers, professional musicians and producers who worked on this recording and music video did so for free, most whom are local to the common and who are continually affected by the ever-expanding sprawl of Bristol Airport.
